Account
- Sign in problems: if the verification email doesn't arrive, check your spam folder. If it still doesn't arrive after 5 minutes, email us and we'll resend or reset it.
- Forgot which email you signed up with: email us with the approximate sign-up date and any other emails you might have used and we can look it up.
- Delete your account: open the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete account. Everything is permanently removed within 30 days. You can also start the deletion process at secretroom.so/data-deletion.
Subscriptions and credits
- Manage your subscription: on iPhone, open the iOS Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → SecretRoom. On Android, open Google Play → tap your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. From there you can change plan, cancel, or update payment.
- Refunds: in-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google. Request refunds via reportaproblem.apple.com (Apple) or your Google Play purchase history (Android). For web payments, email us.
- Credits didn't arrive: if a purchase completed but credits aren't showing, force-close and reopen the app. If they still aren't there after a few minutes, email us with your purchase receipt and we'll fix it manually.
- What credits cost: messages are free on Plus. Image generation, voice calls, and video calls use credits. Each feature shows its cost before you confirm.
Using SecretRoom
- Create a persona: tap the + button on the home screen. Pick an avatar, name, and personality, and start chatting.
- Voice calls: tap the phone icon at the top of a chat. You need a voice unlocked on the persona; some personas unlock voice automatically, others let you choose.
- Video calls: tap the video icon. The first video call with a new persona requires a one-time activation (this trains the realistic video model — takes about an hour to be ready).
- Notifications: personas can message you proactively. You control how often in Settings → Notifications, or you can turn it off entirely.
Technical issues
- App not loading or stuck on splash: force-close the app and reopen it. If that doesn't work, check secretroom.so in a browser — if it loads there, the issue is local; try restarting your phone.
- Voice or video call failing: make sure microphone (and camera, for video) permissions are granted. iPhone: Settings → SecretRoom → toggle Microphone / Camera on. Android: Settings → Apps → SecretRoom → Permissions.
- Crash on launch: uninstall and reinstall the app. Your account and conversations are saved server-side and will be restored when you sign back in.
- Report a bug: email support@secretroom.so with the device model, OS version, and what you were doing when it happened.
Safety and abuse
If someone is sending abusive messages or a persona is producing harmful content, please report it from within the app (tap the persona's name → Report). Reports go to our moderation team.
If you're in crisis or need immediate help, contact local emergency services. SecretRoom is not a substitute for professional mental health support.
